The easies way is with a finish nailer. If you don't have a finish nailer it is a 2 person job, someone to hold, someone to nail. Wood or composite is just fine, composite is less splintery when cut, if it is going to be stained you need wood, if painted either will work.

use small finishing nails, ask where you buy the moulding. Wood is always better and the weight is near the same it's the price that will mwke the decision for you most likely. The composite is already primed, the wood is either plain or may be primed. Good luck

As Happy Killa mentioned a finish gun is the way to go... You should be able to rent one at Home Depot or and equipment rental place...I will assure you...it is worth every penny.

The composite stuff is easier to work with. It doesn't need to be painted, its lighter and easier to cut.

You glue it up with a few nails to hold it till the glue dries.
