YES YES YES! I'm off to work at a leading bank tomorrow, where I am a team leader within the department that makes the decisions whether to pay or return items. NB I can only speak for my particular institution. We state that funds must be available in your account on the working day BEFORE items are due. Overnight tonight all the accounts which are short of funds for 02/01/07 debits will report on a huge list which we'll work through in the morning. From 7am onwards. If we didn't start that early, we'd never get all the decisions made before cut-off. Unless people have told us, we'll have no idea they're on their way to pay in cash, and may bounce cheques or direct debits.
Even if you are waiting on the doorstep of the bank at 9.30 when it opens, we may have returned your payments and levied a charge at 9.20. We might not look at it until 10.30 and you'd be ok.
That's why we say plan ahead, budget properly, be organised and make sure that when payments are due, your money is there from the day before, ready to go.
Fingers crossed for you!

Usually banks do all the business by 3pm I dont think the time you put in money matters as long as it is within the same day banking if in doubt ask or check an earlier statement if this has happened before, it is better to know as overdrawn charges can be very pricey.Just ring and ask, always get the persons name you are talking to.

Depends whether you're lodging cash or cheques. If cheques, they won't be cleared straight away, cash will usually be credited immediately.
If the payment is going out by direct debit, it may go through overnight (before 9am tomorrow), and may be bounced back if there are insufficient funds. You could get the building society to check whether this has happened, and ask them to put it through again, otherwise, arrange to pay it directly to your creditor before they have to look for it.

this is not you or him, this is drugs, he's addicted, he desires help. He took the money without asking through fact he did not opt to take heed to any unfavorable words from you approximately it. once you're addicted any ability is okay as long as you get your fix. definite he will sense such as you attempt to regulate him when you consider which you're, yet his dependancy won't enable him to think of in a rational way which you incredibly attempt to help him. His physique is crying out for the drug and he can't face up to and could lash out at you for status in his way. If he can't comprehend that he has a situation there is not something you're able to do yet make the region worse. do not depart money the place this is available for him added his dependancy, for my section i do unlike counseling yet for that reason i don't see any selection. someway he must be shown the errors he's making. i for my section think of that your tries to dam him from his drug friends will purely effect in greater discontent as he will discover the thank you to get his fix no rely what you do and that's making you appear to be a administration freak which will purely gas the hearth. So he has an dependancy and there are a number of books and communities you may attend in spite of in case you may desire to flow on my own to attempt to appreciate what is going on and with any luck you will discover an street to get him off those drugs.

Could well be, but it depends on your building society.
Many use close of day (previous day) as the deadline. and many will deduct direct debits as early as 12:01 am.
Good luck anyway. P.S you could talk nice to your manager, he DOES have the authority to waiver the charges but you might have to weep a little and lay it on..!! Come back and let us know (fingers crossed)
I am not a credit controller

Its a gamble doing it that way. If you can, deposit the money in your bank's ATM tonight, which will make sure the money is in before the money is taken out. If that isn't an option, I would make sure you are there as the doors are opening to get it in ASAP.

Shouldn't do. Get down there 1st thing and pay in cash. Tell them that you have a payment and want to make sure it goes, they'll probably be able to make sure it's ok.
