It's actually a lot easier than you may think. First of all, put a wash cloth or towel on the bottom of your sink (this will prevent your guinea from slipping,) then fill it with warm water and mix the small critter shampoo in with the water. If you put the shampoo directly on them it can be tough to rinse out. Make sure you don't put too much water in the sink!

Then bath them! Afer rinsing them under running water, DO NOT blow dry them as a guinea pig's body temp can raise dramatically from it. Keep them in an enclosed room, like your bathroom, and turn a space heater on to keep the room nice and warm. Once they have dried off, you can put them back in their cage!

Side notes: don't bath them too often as it can be bad for their skin. Once every 3-4 months is normal and will keep an oily guinea nice and fresh.

No, they DONT need to be bathed on a daily basis. Absolutely not! I only bathed mine once a month at best. G.P.'s are much like cats. They groom themselves and you only need to bathe them if they are getting into someplace that is filthy or if someone in the home is allergic to them. If you are allowing them to play in someplace that is dirty then, Im sorry to say this, but you are a bad pet owner. They should be in something like a large bird cage and should ONLY be allowed to roam the home if they are under constant watch by an adult. I put mine in the balls and they loved that and they got plenty of exercise and it was safe too.

When you do bathe them, do it in the sink w/ luke warm water and a shampoo that is designed for cats. They have delicate skin and human shampoo can hurt them. You can also buy the wipes for bathing animals and those work great too. Walmart has those. They say for dogs but then on the back they say for other animals as well.

you dont need to give them a bath every single week...they dont like baths either, but to give it a bath use some shampoo for guinea pigs from the petstore, and then put it in a little bowl not a huge one just one that will fit it. then after you are done rubbing it then you dry it off with a towel. Dont suffocate it or make it too warm or it will die. Hope it helps!!! (^_^)

First of all, you don't need to bathe them every day. Once or twice a week will do them just fine. Now to go about bathing them, what I do with my guinea pig and my guinea pig in the past I just hold them right under the faucet of warm water. Most people say you should get a small tub or bin and fill it with warm water and bathe them in that. But in my sense it's perfectly fine to just stick them under the faucet. My guinea pig in the past just loved it and my guinea pig now loves it. Yeah all piggies are different, yours may not like it or they will, like mine does. Just be sure you use baby shampoo or a kids shampoo, not like Pantene or something. And have a towel ready to go for when their done, they get sick VERY easily.

I have 2 guinea pigs also. What i do is fill up a sink of water less than 1/2 full then put the guinea pig in. i use a plastic cup to get them wet, or put them under while its running. Some helpful suggestions, don't get their head wet, because it is bad if you get a lot of water in their ear. Hold your guinea pig constantly. they do jump, well at least mine do. After you are done, make sure you get all the soap out, if you don't, it will dry out their skin. wrap them in a towl and dry them off. i put the towles in the dryer for them, they really like that.

Guinea pigs are self cleaning. Like cats. Unless they have gotten into something toxic or are too dirty to lick clean, just let them handle it.
If a bath is a must, use the kitchen sink and mild soap. Make sure they don't get a chill and blow them dry.
Good luck

Guinea pigs are rodents and don't need to be bathed. If you try bathing them, their fur will shed alot more and can even cause some sickness. However, you have to keep the cage clean.
