Duh means "of course you igronant person! What didn't you htink of that!"
and
Er is just something to express when you cannot think of anything... It is in a way of a natural way of quick thinking... just how the French say, "Euh.........." but not drawn out so much?

Duh means "isn't it obvious?"
Er is just a noise people make when they can't think of anything intelligent to say. I think. It also stands for Elizabeth Regina and Emergency Room

Well, it depends. "Duh" can either mean, "That's obvious." Like, "What's 2+2?" "4, DUH!" Or, as a funny way of saying "I don't know." Like, "Who was the 4 emporer of the Byzantine Empire?" "DUH?" As for "Er" It's a pause, when you don't know what to say, or are hesitating to speak. "Did you sleep with my mom?" "Well, er..."
