I don't think it can help the middle class.

What about the upper middle class that won't see a pay raise? Do they just get the shaft because the prices of goods go up to compensate for the higher labor costs?

simply, it doesn't. In fact anyone who makes more than minimum wage is hurt. If business has to pay workers more, then business has to charge higher prices to cover the difference. Besides i started working when i was 14 1/2 and have never made minimum wage. I have not even finished high school and make over 3 dollars more than minimum wage. and i have worked fast food, and fast food workers do not deserve that much money. The job isn't that hard. If you want to make money in the 21st century, then get a education.

It will strengthen the middle class because decent pay creates an opportunity to enter the middle class and have stability. That particular promise was to the least of us, who are also the most of us. There will be other thing (health care, tax breaks) which should be very helpful to the middle class.

It won't help the middle class.
Products and services will rise in price and they will be back to where they are now.
Getting a good education and a good job is very important. Worrying about min. wage should not be your priority. None of my 4 kids make min. wage now or did at ANY of their part-time jobs while in High School and college.

The more money poor people have, the more they have to spend on goods and sevices produced by the middle class.

Better food, better place tp live, maybe a car and insurance, etc.

Aren't you sick of these poor people looking for a decent life. I say we bring the Chinese over here now to run things, keep them workers in their place, and there will be more money for oil companies and George and his friends. ...Read the history of unions in America, that's who built the middle class.
