It sounds as if you weighed youself on 2 different scales. I don't think that bathroom type scales are that accurate that you can expect that you will weigh the same amount on 2 different scales.

What you can expect is that if you use the same scale you can tell whether you are gaining or loosing weight. There are a number of different factors that affect a persons weight on any given day.

One is the water content in your body or how well you are hydrated. Water weighs quite a bit and our bodies are made up of about 75% water. How much urine is in our bladder makes a difference in our weight as well as how much undigested food is in our digestive system. The clothes and shoes we wear make a difference.

When I worked in hospitals, if a doctor ordered daily weights on a patient, we had to take them a certain way. They had to be done on the same scale each day and done the first thing in the am after the person got up.

The weights were to be taken with the person in their PJs, after they urinated and before they ate or drank anything. That's the same way I measure my weight in the am.

Some organizations, like Weight Watchers, advise to weigh yourself once a week instead of every day because a person's weight usually wiil vary from day to day. I have to weigh myself every day to remind myself to stick to my diet.

I hope that something I have written has helped.

it could just be diffrent scales weighing diffrently.if you used 2 diffrent scales i wouldnt worry about it and usually if you gain a few you could feel it in your jeans some they arent as big, or they are alil snug around the belly. a home scale compared to an up right scale the kind the drs use usually weigh diffrently. but if you used the same scale 2 times then you might of gained a lil. but it doesnt mean you gained fat it could be muscle or even water. or if your not out of puberty yet you could of growed an inch and not realized it and that would add a couple pounds.

Maybe the scale wasn't accurate. You should weigh yourself at the doctors with a professional scale.

Every scale is different and your weight changes throughout the day, week and month. Pop is one of the quickest ways to add weight.

Could be the clothes you wore the second time were heavier or maybe you had on heavier sneakers. 5 lbs. is not a big difference, & clothes can affect it.
