What's most important to be able to tell if someone is lying is that you have to know the person. Their body language tells you right away. In other words if the person's facial expressions change (like if they stroke their hair or ear or something like that while they talk). I insist on having to know the person. If you do you'll be able to tell.

They cannot make direct eye contact and when talking they offer more details than you asked for. Like if they tell you every last thing you will believe it more....
Or they have the Y chromosome. (just kidding)
