Since the Republican party is now recognized as a haven for criminals and trigger happy war hawks with a penchance for fiscal irresponsibility, the whole wormy mess beholden to religious extremists, Isn't it time that we dismantle the party? We can't well have a platform dedicated to a track record of wanton disregard for anything resembling responsible financial and social behavior. It is as though we would let our children play with rabid animals. The dissolution of a political platform has been done before. Previous political platforms like the Whigs, the Constitutional Union, and the Populist parties are all excellent examples of once powerful platforms that were dissolved for various reasons. The dissolution of the Republican party will be done out of a sense of National Outrage and Disgrace. Should we do it? I think the reasons why we should at this point in history are self evident. Why shouldn't we?

For the ignorant amongst you, I was certainly not implying that the Democrats (now Thank God in control of Congress) should disband the Republicans. That would be like calling someone an ENEMY COMBATANT. I don't espouse any form of fascism. I am merely asking if enough Americans aren't anaesthetized enough to get up off their couch and go out into the streets, and with a mighty roar vanquish evil. It's called the voting booth. If the voting booth can be used to determine who I can marry, then it can be used to abolish a platform dedicated to the fleecing of the working class American.

As a democrat, I say no. We NEED a republican party or some other opposing party. We need checks & balances because I don't put complete faith in ANY political organization, even my own.
But I plead to every Republican voter: Please, for the sake of our country, get involved and take back your party! It has been taken over by self-serving charlton's and only you, the real republicans that put the good of our country over the good of your party can bring back the respect and greatness that used to be the GOP. I had respect for the party of Regan, Goldwater, Ford and Dole, even though I disagreed with them. The REAL Republicans that are left in this country need to go out and find men of this caliber and conviction and place them on the voting ballots again. Quit listening to Rush Limbaugh, politicalevangelest and the other wackos and get back to the REAL Republican ideals and values that we used to respect and take seriously.
Fellow Democrats: We are not off the hook. We also have a civic duty to vote wisely. Our candidates need to be aware that they don't have carte blanc. Our new leaders in congress must be made to understand that we will watch them very closely. They should be always be fearful that if they don't perform well, we will replace them the same way we did the Republicans in the last election.
It's all up to ALL of us. This is how a REAL American government is ran.

How many erroneous and unsupported assertions did you make in that tirade? I can't count that high.

This dumbest thing in your entire rant is that you can't even begin to explain WHO is going to "dismantle" the party. If you think that the Democrat-dominated Congress ought to pass legislation to ban the Republican Party, then you are the one who obviously doesn't respect the Constitution.

Oh! Now I get it! You are saying that the VOTERS themselves, instead of the politicians whom they just elected a couple of months ago, should pass the legislation that bans the Republican Party? Well guess what? It's still unconstitutional whether it's the voters doing it or their politicians!

Well, let's look at this, shall we? The Democrats ruled thwe Southern States, when they tried to leave the union, and argued on behalf of slavery... Shouldn't the Democratic-Republicans also be dismantled, since they are slavers and traitors, historically?

Now, my true opinion is this: There are bad apples in every bunch. stop picking at the small stuff, and get your partisan bumm to work repairing this mess!
