sometimes they are never served esp. if they are running from it.
my ex wife avoided service and then I had to post the info in the paper and then wait about 6 months because the judge wanted her to have a chance and knowing about the court date.

In most jurisdictions you have 120 days to get the other person served with the Complaint. If you don't, the Court loses jurisdiction. Once they get served, they have 20 days to file an Answer.

Depends on how close your are and how fast your attorney is in getting it to her. If you live in the same town it should be only a few days.
