I'd like to get degree in film, but it's difficult to find any good schools. I live in New York State and would like to go somewhere not to far away. But there are not alot of schools around here that i can find. Does anyone know of any?

Actually, some great film programs are located in New York - NYU, Ithaca College, SUNY Purchase, Syracuse, Rochester Institute of Technology. Not too far from NY, you have Emerson, Point Park, Bowling Green, Boston U, Temple.

To find other possibilities, try:
Peterson's art and performing arts search engine:
www.petersons.com/vpa/vpasector.asp?path=ug.fas.visual

And Filmmakers.com's reviews of various programs:
http://filmmaker.com/reviews.html

There is also a book called Film school Confidential, which explains what to look for, and lists other options. It is available for under $`15 used through Amazon.com.

Good luck!

I can't help you with New York, but San Fransico State University offers a good program.

You will find that most film schools will not accept students until the junior year, so check out what the pre-reqs are and maybe start at a community college in New York, then transfer.

Good luck!
