I had to shut down my computer when I was working on a Microsoft Office Word (2003) document. This document mainly consisted of Word Art. When I later restarted my computer to opened up the document, all the color in the word art was gone. I then tried all that i could think of including, restarting my computer, starting up a new document, start another Word Art, changing the fill on the word art, etc. But all that shows is the outline - but only in black. When I print a document with Word Art in it the color does show...

PLEASE , OH, PLEASE, if you have an idea to restore the color of the Word Art please reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a project due on Wed. and I need Word Art

Thank You!

Try looking in your recent documents as Word usually restores most files you were working on.

I really don't know how to fix this. I hope someone will help you. But all I can offer is a future advice.

Every time I start a project in MS word, I save it right away. Just go to file -> save as and save the file. Then what you want to do is Tools -> options -> save tab.

Check the Save AutoRecover to 1 min and do a check to make a back up copy. Even though now you will always have a copy of a document (you can delete those later), you will have a copy just in case. And whenever you are working in MS word - occasionally do ctrl-S. This just saves whatever changes you have made.

The reason why you want to do these things is cause of uncertainty if your computer shuts down and you will lose everything.

I am sorry that you have lost the stuff you were working on, but you can start over. It sucks don't get me wrong, but it is also a lesson which you have learned and that is - always save, always.

Good Luck
