I've tried watching clips from Yahoo too and finally gave up on it, Yahoo doesn't support Macs. Try it with Firefox, some not all have gotten videos to play with it.

Video can only play in a web browser if the browser has a plugin in its Plugins folder. Some sites have ways of hosting video that does not require a plugin to be present on your hard drive but most leave it up to you.

For videos that are MPEG or .MOV files, you would need a QuickTime plugin. You have one by default from the installation of the operating system (Mac OS X). If the video is MPEG4, you would need to have OS 10.3.9 or later and QuickTime 7 or later.

For videos that are .SWF, you will need to have a Flash plugin that comes from installing the Flash Player from Macromedia.

For videos that end with .WMV or .WMA, you would need a Windows Media Player plugin and Microsoft has stopped making it for Mac. They seem to have gotten distressed about Apple dropping Internet Explorer from their system installation in favor of Safari browser.

You may be able to download some .WMV or .WMA files from a web site and then install Flip4Mac plugin which works with QuickTime Player but not with web browsers. To use it, you need to have Mac OS 10.3.9 or later and QuickTime 6.5 or later. The link is below. I don't know a way to download the Yahoo videos that are linked to their home page. You will often have the option to download from video.yahoo.com

We can only hope, with the popularity of iPod and Mac OS, that more people will give up using Windows Media Player files for video and use MPEG2 and MPEG4 which is so much better and can be played in any browser, any system.

The difficult force could have crashed. you could attempt this by employing booting off the set up disc and going to Disc utility and verifying the force. in case you have not got the disc anymore, the main suitable answer could be to in basic terms take it on your close by Apple shop for diagnostics.
