I'd like to learn how to use Bittorrent. The client that I downloaded is 'Azureus'. Is there a better one out there? What sites to I go to to download things? What do I do with a .torrent file when I save it? Things like that. Thanks in advance. :*)

I usually go to http://www.torrentspy.com for all of my torrent downloads. When I can't find something I either go to http://www.thepiratebay.com or http://www.demonoid.com
Once you download the torrent file, all you should have to do is double click it and azureus will come up with the download. You can then pick where you want the files to go and, if it isn't just one file, you can pick and choose which files in the pack you want to download (very useful if you're downloading a music album but only want one or two songs). Depending on how you are connected to the net, you may have to open up ports on your routers firewall (or windows firewall). On the azureus site there are a large number of tutorials on how to do this. This step isn't strictly necessary, but will increase your download speeds in excess of 50%. Good luck.

Remember it's not illegal to have this software, and it's also not illegal to download music, movies, or games if you already own them. (or if you have a scratched cd that you can't use anymore)

Azureus is what I use, it's a great free open source client. For web sights I use Torrentspy.com and isohunt.com.

Once you have a .torrent file, you should be able to open it with azureus.

Either double click if you've assigned azureus to always open .torrent files or drag and drop it into the top window.

If you don't have it set to open with a specific program when you double click on the files an open with dialog box should appear, just find azureus on that list then click on it, and then check the box at the bottom that says always open this type of file with this program, from then on you should just be able to doubble click it and it will start azureus up and confirm that you want to download that file.

Open the .torrent files with Azureus. Then it should prompt you which files you want to download, etc. To find .torrents you can use http://torrentscan.com/. AND ITS NOT ILLEGAL DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU DO WITH IT!
