I thought it was Crank. I'm not one for epics of any sort, or sequels, I prefer completely and wholly brand new stories and characters in my movies.

Well I don't what the best movie of 2006 was but Cars was one of best of 2006.

Instead of best, I'll do my two underrated movies, both for different reasons:
Miami Vice--The movie was slept on, because either A) people were expecting a rehash of the TV series, or B) they were expecting another dumbed-out "Bad Boys". Instead of the opposite, you had a smart, gritty, adult crime drama that wasn't given it's due.
Snakes on a Plane--Hype is what killed the movie's potential, but the funny thing is, it really did live up to it. You had to leave your brain at the door, but I guess people were too dumb to realize that. The most fun I had at the movies in a long while!

My film of the year? Really difficult to choose but I'll got with Apocalypto, er, or Pan's Labyrinth... Can I have more? :-) Borat; Little Children; Miss Potter; Last King of Scotland; Blood Diamond; Children of Men; Marie Antoniette; Last Kiss; Geisha; Capote; North Country; Proof; Walk the Line; Monster House, The Prestige, United 93; Little Miss Sunshine.... I could go on so I better stop :-D.
