a boost? And could any of you give me pointers if I were to audition in a theater with little acting experience (love it, though) and a decent amount of raw talent in the vocal department?

1)what they tell u to do do it they tell u to jump of the bridge u better do it (it so they know who will do what they say and make the production easier)
2)dont be stressed
3)get a good amount of sleep
4)EYE CONTACT
5)paying of the director
6)humor (only in emergencies)
all but 5 and 6 work all the time

Use that acting talent to make em think you know what you're doing. A killer audition scores points, not necessarily resumes. They don't know if you've had no acting classes or a masters of fine arts in theater, or if this is your first audition or your hundredth. YOU stay in control, and you'll do great! Break a leg!

Be super energetic, and shirk any shyness. Let your true-self shine through, even if it means to be a little weird. They love that. haha. Give it everything you've got, and belt it! Good luck.
Oh yeah, & they will more likely pick the people with more experience & stuff, but who cares? Show 'em what you've got, & you might be able to beat them for the role you want.
And if you don't get a good role or make it or whatever, do not give up. You can practice & make it eventually. And believe me. It is so much fun.
And like, I said, most importantly, GET OUT OF YOURSELF.

You have to call the theaters in your city and ask them your question. Some theaters may or may not require experience, depending on the type of productions they produce. You won't know unless you call each theater. Also, find out if there are non-professional theaters in your city.

alot of acting experience is helpful but a kick Azz audition could also work too....tips:
1. Be confident
2. know your material (be ready to have a song in prepration)
3. be well rested and warmed up vocally
4. dont break a sweat..if you mess up PLAY IT OFF..afterall your ACTING!
