a) Surgical Steel
b) Titanium
Personally I find these are the best metals for jewellery. Gold is OK but some people react to it.

surgical steel (but i know i react ot this) so i would reccomend 18K gold which has lower rejection levels because it has less impurities, once my piercings are at a fully healed stage i can the wear 9K gold (which is cheaper and more easily avaliable!). But its up to your body and what it likes, pain is a bad sign :)

Use surgical steel. Because you could be like me, and be allergic to nickle (i.e.--What's used to make "cheap metals" such as most belt buckles, necklaces, rings, ect.)

it depends on your skin type. i am allergic to anything but pure silver or gold, and everyones skin is different, so it's a matter of your choice.
