Yep... from time to time my wife will sneak in some Cheez-Its or candy or whatever she can fit into her purse at the time. :-) I'd bring my own popcord if I could. $3.50 for a box of Raisinettes? My a$$!

First off - I won't want to go to Movie Theater Hell!

On top of that the movie theater makes all their money one the concessions, not the ticket sales so I just can't live with the guilt that I could be putting that ticket taker out of job just because I didn't want to shell out an extra buck for the soda. Also, I figure if people would stop smuggling food in then the price of my popcorn might actually go down to a reasonable figure - but for now I just assume I'm going to drop a $20 between the ticket booth and my seat in the movie so that I can have clean Karma.

My daughter has a purse that can hold two 20 oz bottles of soda and several boxes of candy. We go to the drug store and buy $0.99 boxes of junior mints and milk duds that sell at the movies for $2.50. I will admit to buying popcorn with butter at the movies cause it is so good. Our theater has a date special with two drinks and a large popcorn for $8.50 if you were to buy those things separately you would pay over$13.00. It's crazy but kids today seem to have money cause I see them paying those prices for treats. When I was a kid fifty cents would get you in to the movie and buy a huge popcorn. No wonder that when we go to the movies sometimes we are the only ones in the theater. If they would lower their admission prices and snack prices maybe the theaters would be more crowded. I know we would go more often.

Haven't gone to the movies in a long time. We watch movies at home now. Mostly because of the prices for snacks and for getting in even. We enjoy our movies at home too because we don't have to put up with others around us talking or trying to find a seat, etc. This really don't answer your question, does it? OK... When we did go to the movies we took our own pop corn, candy bars and bought the drinks there. For the same reason you do.

Hell yes I do. I always buy a 20oz bottle of coke and candy at Walmart and bring it in. I spend two dollars at Walmart instead of paying at least seven at the show. I bring in food Wendy's, Long John Silvers, Taco Bell, Arby's, Subway(when I use to go there). It is ridiculous for what they charge at the theater.

sometimes when I'm going to a movie with my mom or my friends, we'll bring some water bottles and maybe some candy and hide them in our purses. except for my guy friends. WE have to hide THEIR water. but what i find very rude, and i know this doesn't have anything really to do with the question, is when people talk on the phone during the movie! i remember once, my friends Megan and Pete and I were going to see a movie (i think it was john tucker, i can't remember) there was this dude in front of us talking on his cell. Megan and I asked him if he could quiet down or put away his phone, and he flicked us off (and called us some pretty bad names), so Pete grabbed the guy's phone and threw it in the trash. It was hilarious! (the man in front of us was kicked out of the theater, thank God!)

Of course,I wear a coat or jacket with an inside pocket and my date usually has a purse but if its a first date I dont so that I won't look cheap(I am).Who want's to pay $9 for a reese cup and $7 for a cup of ice sprinkled with pop(soda for you northerners).I will continue to do so as long as they continue to legally charge those outrageous prices.

No kidding. When ever I take my mother with me...we always buy a pack of Red Vines for like what $1, and some water. I totally agreee with you.

I take her to see a movie every now and then...if not, I'll just stay at home and watch a movie in my home theater. ; )

YES! We stop at the bulk barn first and load up on things like skittles and m&ms and jujubes and if I've got my purse, we cram in a couple cans of pop. But we always get movie theatre popcorn.
