No, only people w/out imagination can't empathize. He was a hard tough man who ruled dissolute tribes w. an iron fist, if that region is to be kept together it will need another similar character to do the job in the long term.
Saddam's real crime was to have been poor and climbed his way up to the top, the creeps we have in power always had everything given to them on a plate, even the presidency.

No, not in the least. Many people didn't agree with the sentence he received, myself included. What he did was horrible, he didn't deserve to be a free man ever again in his lifetime, but I don't happen to agree with the death penalty, especially something as barbaric as hanging.

For the record, if we're on a kick of executing leaders for the atrocities committed, perhaps someone can explain why Bush is still among the living? He's directly responsible for more deaths, thanks to his hyped up war, than took place in the 9/11 attacks. More people have died in this war, and that's only counting the US soldiers ... not the civilian casualties, not the Iraq civilians (655,000), not the british, italian and canadian casualties .... yet everyone is all overjoyed that Suddam is hung and executed, while Bush is praised? Wtf?

It's completely natural to feel bad for someone if they die, even if they've done some terrible things. It is human nature to desire not to die, and also to sympathize with different situations. Everyone does things that are bad, and even if someone does things that seem far worse, people often feel bad about practically anyone's death. I personally think that he did some terrible things and that in the end, perhaps he deserved it, but who am I to judge his fate. Don't worry about it, nothing is wrong with you.

i don't think anything is wrong with you. you are human and naturally felt bad that someone was being put to death. someone being killed in any way shape or form is sometimes quite upsetting to some people no matter what they did. you can't be blamed for being human. don't worry about it. bottom line you are a compasionate person and there isn't anything wrong with that.

Those are the kind of feelings that make us better people than they are (evil people I mean). After everything he did to other human beings there are still those who have compassion for his fate. No there isn't anything wrong with that.

No, it's just that executing him was a mere distraction for some major problem we are secretly up against. The gov. always seems to do that.

No one is ever happy when a criminal sentence is carried out. At least, no sane person.

I take no pleasure when someone is sent to jail for a long time, or is executed for their deeds.

However, if there is a death penalty, I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Nope you just have morals etc... I mean he was wrong but so were the people who killed him, they did the same thing he did. They should have known better.... I'm against all type of killing. We're human beings not animals.... well not even animals, they don't kill for no reason at all!

No, I was all for the hanging but when I saw the video of him standing there and the noose lying on the platform....it made me sick.....I didn't feel bad for him.....I felt sick. Still think he deserved it though.
