Okay I'm using Microsoft Windows Maker Version 1.1.2427.1 and I like making homemade movies but I don't know how to add text to the movie. I can trim, add clips, add audio and stuff like that but can't add text. If for some reason, you can't add text using the Windows Movie Make, can you tell me another way?

I use windows movie maker and I add text like all the time.
To get text, click on the edit movie option on the side bar, then click make titles or credits. It wil give you a whole bunch of options like on top of the selected clip, before or after the selected clip...ect. That will give you the basics. If you wnt credits over top of a video, do the on top of clip, this can be pictures too. When your typing yyour stuff you can also change the font, animation, colour ect. this option is found below the text box. Good luck

I use Cyberlink Power Director which includes text capabilities and special effects. You can get this from www.cyberlink.com.

You can also build a blank clip to insert blank space before and after your movie. Just use a song and mute the track.
