Whenever I do it I always end up feeling akward when I think about what happened to all that lube that was once on my finger. Is it safe for all that crud to end up in your bum, or is there some special lube that would be safer?

the lubricant will eventually become mixed with anal fluids and will be released during a bowel movement.

Won't harm you in any way unless you are using axle grease. Just use KY Jelly, it's the best.
