This may sound odd, but I think it is because the sun comes up in the East. Your shadow moves from left to right, and appears to move in a clockwise direction (if you check out a sundial). I'm in the North... I'm guessing this may look different if you are in the southern hemisphere.

Logically, this makes sense in my wee mind. It may be the reason why in our traditions (I'm Aboriginal), our ceremonies progress in a clockwise direction.

Just a guess, but I suspect I am on to something!

Because we read left to right and a clock's hands tick to the right. Unless you're in an alternate universe. Then they may go left. Or not at all.

But anyway, clockwise is clockwise because clocks go that way, and they go that way because we read left ot right.

Hmm....well, I'm not sure, but I don't think it was faerie magic, because it's a bit boring when the clocks run clockwise. It must have been decided by trolls ;)

Judas, you totally intrigue me
not to sure if clockwise or counter-clockwise matters, both reflect time, but i question you, if clocks run, then where is it they are going?and why must they run if walking gets them to their destination?

Clocks run the way they do as they mimic the shadow from the gnomen when we used sundials to tell time

To keep up with the time...

If they go counter-clockwise, they'll miss it.

It's from the conspiracy of the right handed world. If left handers ran the world it would go the other way. Power to the Lefties!!!!!
