You have to get tested to see if you are physically able to get them or if they will cause irritation. However, you do not need to get prescribed.

Contact lenses are very serious business, so see an eye doctor whether you have 20/20 vision or not. They will be able to see if there are any problems with your eyes you dont know about, that may worsen if you wear contacts. Too many people get gross infection from buying contacts from random places and people. Take it from a person who has worn contacts, you only have one set of eyes. Better safe than sorry!

No you can buy them and put em in. If they don't feel comfortable chuck some eye drops in and if they still don't then maybe they are not for you. Your eye shape has alot to do with discomfort. You can get them online and off ebay and that.
If you go to the optometrist to get some they will charge an arm and a leg for a consultation and then recommend that you have your eyes checked ALL the time which is more cost. You should have them checked occasionally though.

Well...it is quite risk free and safer to go to a doctor, but I wear different colored lenses everyday...maybe that's cause my mom's a doctor. If u want lenses for ur eyesight go to the doctor, if not read the instructions carefully.

My daughter has worn non-prescription contacts for a couple of years and hasn't had any ill effects. Best to see a doctor though just to be safe.

you should have no problem but it may be wise to get seen by an optician just to check eye shape.
i was unable to just buy and wear normal colored lenses as one of my eyes has a slight oddity which is not noticeable but causes discomfort with lenses.
good luck
