Who is out there from this welcoming state would like to tell me good things about the state and the not so good if this is possible. I'm moving from IL. to Goldsboro, N.C. in about nine months, no family there, but I want to do is voulunteer work at a military base in the area. This is my time to enjoy life and to give gack to those who have given theirs for us.My daughter was in the Army, but all military bases need help and their familys also. Need to make some connections here please!!!
So any one want to take me up on this and tell me what am I in store for here. I've been to Fayetteville and Jacksonville about five time each. Heaven sent if I do say so.
I'm sorry to say the only complant I do have is your speed limt, my one and only speeding ticket I got in Jacksonville, yes we do drive like there's no tomorrow up here. That's the way we are, I hope to curb that by moving!! Till then I'll leave the governor in tact in the car, ha !! Thanks for your stories ahead of time.

I just moved to NC in like April. I live in Raleigh. it is okay but u need to find things to do fast. because it is pretty boring. a much slower pace then up north. It drives me crazy. lol. it helps a lot to have a car or know a friend with one cause with out it ur screwed. From my house to the walmart is like 20 minutes. and im suposed to live in the city part of Raleigh. I been to Goldsboro. it is pretty boring to. Im telling you find some good friends fast who have cars cause if you don't your going to be bored to death. Hope that helped you out a little and didn't frighten you away. Oh and if you are from up north take caution to the country accent. it just about drove me nuts and they speak so slow.

North Carolina is a great place to live. I have only been to Goldsboro to buy our VW (the dealership was awesome), but I do know the location is close to the beach and not far from the mountains. You are also about an hour away from Raleigh-Durham, which is a haven of shopping, parks, greenways, biking/rollerblading trails, and restaurants. You'll get used to the speed limit. Good luck and happy moving!

in case you wanna bypass to N.Carolina, bypass. verify it out. not understanding each person there is not a strong reason. you may make friends. Its like your first day of faculty, you already know once you do not understand each person?
