Of Course I know her!! You know if you talk about Italy the first person you mention or comes to your mind is Sophia Loren in show business, the same happens in France, she is France´s icon!! An amazing actress, I loved her work with singer Bjork in "Dancer in the Dark"..Apart from Depardieu, French people should be proud of the actress they got.

I don't know her personally but I know of her. I've seen several of her films. "Belle de Jour" is probably my fav. Oh, on reading over the other answers I forgot she was in "Dancer in the Dark". I loved that movie, I was bawling almost all the way through. Bjork was astonishing.
