I have just took down my shed where behind it there was a conifer all the conifer where the sun did not get to is dead , but there are slowly little bits of green coming on it , how can i speed this prossess up , will it ever become green again , is there anything i can do to help ??

It could, with a bit of TLC be revived - however do you really want a conifer at the bottom of your garden.......can grow to enormous heights, annoy neighbours, suck all the goodness out of your soil, give shade where you don't want it.....? If the answer yes, then cut it back to where the new, green growth it and let it go.... good luck (p.s I have a chain saw if you decide otherwise!!!!)

When it is early spring you can give it some fertilizer and water it deeply. Where the green is emerging let it be. If there is deadwood remove that. Sometimes you can scratch the surface with your thumbnail and see if there is green showing under the skin. Green means it is alive. I like to blast my evergreens with a hose to reduce insect problems.

take off all the dead wood, trim +shape your tree, feed with as id feed , conifers need a lot of water as they have shallow roots.that would have done more damage than lack of sun. think of where they grow,ie Scotland,Norway, long dark days
