This is very common. It is your uterus shrinking back into place. Breastfeeding helps this process. I felt them almost every time I breastfeed for about 4 weeks. They do get better. In a way they are a type of contraction since it is contracting your uterus. Congratulations on the little one.

These feelings actually are contractions. The breastfeeding is helping your body return to normal or it's pre-pregnant state. I applaud for you for breastfeeding your child. It is the best thing in the world you can do for your baby. Best wishes. The cramping won't last too long. Just know that when it is contracting it is doing your body good by helping your body get back in proper shape. Breastfeeding burns calories, too, so you will loose weight faster. By producing milk you can eat more and weigh less than someone who isn't breastfeeding. It is so wonderful to be able to nourish your child. It is touching, loving and an all around wonderful experience for the baby and the mother. Lord bless you.

I had two c-sections and complications with one afterward. Although my problems were with the incision (external). There is going to be slight pain, muscle spasms, and weird sensations for a long time though. Your muscles were just ripped apart to get a baby out. The pain killers can cause constipation and cramping. You may want to go to the Doctor to be sure everything is good.

It's completely normal and common when breastfeeding. Your uterus is just trying to get back to pre-pregnancy size. Uncomfortable, yes, but necessary. Tylenol might help.

Your cramping is probably your uterus getting back to normal. If you are bleeding heavily and the cramping continues-see your doctor ASAP.
