Yeah, eight hours on the highway sounds right, unless you hit snow and ice. Flying's faster, two hrs and 20 minutes in the air (of course, you'd need that much again counting to and from the airports).

Driving from Van to Calgary takes about 12 hours (doing the speed limit in good conditions)

Flying takes like an hour or two, it's super quick to fly.

It takes me exactly 12 hours from the ferry terminal at Tswassen (Vancouver) to my home in Calgary.

driving........ 13 hours over rogers pass. thats with only stopping for gas and doing over 140km most of the way in a neon :)
