CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware

There are a couple of good registry cleaners, including: CCleaner, EasyCleaner and Eusing's Registry Cleaner. But, you can decide for yourself. Fred Langa, computer guru and writer at Informationweek, wrote an excellent review of several free and premium registry cleaners.
1. " Langa Letter: Testing 10 Windows 'Registry Cleaning' Software Packs: Fred Langa tries to make sense of wildly disparate claims, and rates the best free and commercial products. " (http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=171203805)

My personal favorite is CCleaner (a.k.a. Crap Cleaner). It is efficient and reliable. It plays on the safe side and only displays registry keys that are completely safe to remove - as a result it might miss some bad registry keys. However, on the flip side, Regseeker and Eusing's Registry Cleaner are very aggressive, casting a very large net to catch bad registry keys. The downside is that it sometimes displays registry keys, which are valid, and recommends you remove them. The biggest fear is, if you delete a vital registry key, it can damage your computer or even make it unusable. So, I recommend CCleaner over these 2 programs. You have many in that list and select which suits your need as you have not mentioned which type of registry cleaner you want like spyware/adware remover, registry defrag, etc.. You also get some softwares which have other useful tools, tweaks, oprimizers etc..

RegCleaner is supposed to be pretty good, I believe. Just backup before use.
