Let us try to save some lives. The fire detector and changing the battery regular, but I think the better one is the Corbin monoxide detector. They are good to have in your house but no Body says any thing about the sensor. The sensor is a chemical sensor and has a life of about 3 years, after that it will not detect anything. Good luck

A few years back a local school in Terre Haute put some rodents (rats, or mice I do not remember) on a diet that included soft drinks as their source of water.

They then took x-rays to find decreased bone density compared with the control rats.

The animals were not harmed.

You could improve on the study by comparing cola drinks with non cola drinks as colas have some phosphoric acid that might lower Calcium absorption more.

To properly do the experiment you would need at least 5 rodents of each group: cola, 7-up, tap water (run cold water at least 15 minutes before obtaining sample to avoid heavy metals).

Pick out the Rats at random, (ie assign numbers to them 1-15, then put numbers in a hat, first five picks for control, next five picks for cola, ect .

You might want to talk with your family medical doctor about the bone tests. Start out with young rats of same age, similiar litters.

How long to run diet? Don't know. Have math teacher give advice on how to evaluate data.

Everything must be the same for each rat, except the drinks.
