Maggiano's is high-end chain that serves Italian family style.
(For those with experience, think Buca di Beppo with class.)
You'll see a wide variety of dress, from jeans to suits. Dress like the people at your table and you'll be fine. If you have to take a wild swing, I would go with khakis and a dress shirt...maybe throw a jacket on that you can take off if you don't need it.
I've only actually been in the one in Jacksonville, FL...but it was excellent.
Enjoy.

My office had their holiday party at a Maggiano's last month. It's family-style Italian, much like Bucca di Beppo's, maybe a step above. The food was very good, the noise wasn't really a factor for us because we had a private room. The dress ran the gamut - jeans to dresses and suits. I'd say be comfortable, go with whatever your group is wearing you'll be fine.

Wow, I'm shocked to hear people think this place is fancy. Everytime we've gone it's been jeans. Nice jeans, but still. I've only been to the one in Santa Clara, CA so it could be different elsewhere...
Overall, I'd say it's okay. I'd much rather go to the Elephant Bar or Cheesecake Factory.
And it's very loud because it's family oriented...but their desserts rocked!
If you're never sure what to wear to dinner make it khakis and a polo shirt if youre a guy and a nice pair of slacks and a sweater if you're a female. They are safe no matter what.
