Maybe; all it takes is one guy with a lot of money and a dream like Eugene Melnyk. The league claims that they have to approve the relocation of a franchise, but that might not hold up in court.

It will be a while. Unfortunatley I think Kansas City will get a chance first since they are getting a new arena. As an old WHA fan though I would love to see a new Jets team in Winnipeg.

they should, Canada's money is stronger then the past and with the salary cap they can survive. I just don't think it will happen with Gary Bettman as Comish, he needs to be fired cause he will do everything in his power to not let a Canadian team join the NHL look at what Bettman did to Basillie scared him away. he has put so much effort to sell the game in the U.S which is not working since hes been Comish, and it wont help his hard work if another Canadian team joins the NHL and then wins the Stanley cup. Mark Messier for Comish that's sounds good.

Well, they built a new rink and it's way too small for NHL standards now. Anyway, Winterpeg as a market made no sense in the old NHL as players never wanted to be traded there. Sad but true.

Doubtful for a new team within the near future. The city built a new arena, but it's nowhere near as large as it would need to be, and according to friends of mine, it doesn't sell out all that much with Manitoba Moose playing there anyways.

Is Kansas City a lock for the Penguins? Or is it possible for them to move north?

I have faith that they will! I'd have to travel a ways to see them, but I wouldn't mind doing that!
