It all depends on the time frame in which he drinks all these beers or if he's eating while he drinks. Is this from personal experience or just testings us?

Define drunk. Time frame is critical. If he drinks 8 beers over 24 hours, then easily not drunk. 8 beers in 3 hours? He is at the very least going to fail the DUI test.

Based on the alcohol absorption rate - and the timeframe involved - he is most likely legally drunk. But you didn't state how long it took to drink the 8-12 beers. More than 2 per hour will usually put the BAC above .08 - which is the legal limit to operate a vehicle in most states.

sure...if a person has a high tolerance to alcohol it takes more to see the effects that alcohol has on the CNS.
regarding his weight, it all depends on his body fat percentage. don't go by BMI, its old, outdated and basically meaningless in terms of identifying the status of ones level of health.
according to the BMI i'm obese at 6'0 and 240 lbs but I also have 10% body fat which the BMI doesn't take into account.

Good scotch (Johnny Walker black, Glenfiddich) is pretty manly when taken over the rocks. It's not sweet, but if you let it sit for a bit, so that the ice melts, it's smooth. Another relatively accepted "manly" drink is Red Bull and vodka.

If he has been a drinker for about 5+ years, he is probably just used to it. He is a pretty big guy, so he can definately hold his beer. I don't think he is over weight, he is one tall dude
