By not giving the other team a win.
You don't earn respect if your QB (Grossman) basically hands the game to the other team by completing more passes to them than your own team.
You also don't earn respect by backing into the playoffs (Cowboys and Giants).
Even your own fans booed them off the field after last nights game.

Rex Grossman is inconsistent. He has a great game, then the following week, he has a lousy game. The Bears' defense is well respected and feared throughout the NFL. If Grossman could find his groove, the Bears have a good chance of winning the NFC, giving hte quality of teams in that league. Outside of the NO Saints, the Bears have no team to fear in the NFC.

A lot of it comes from being good players. I am not talking about being good at what they do, I am talking more about being good people. Take LaDainian Tomlinson for example. When he talks about what he has done on gameday, he nearly always uses "we". He understands that yes, he is a very talented running back, but that he wouldn't be able to do what he does without the "big uglies" up front blocking for him and giving him a sliver of daylight. Few people can really give a good reason to not like him. Being good at what he does is NOT a good reason to hate someone.
Compare that to someone like T.O., or Randy Moss in his peak of "it's all about me" days, Keyshawn Johnson, again in his "it's all about me" days, etc, etc. A lot of people aren't big fans of the Bengals these days. Of course 8 members of a 53 man roster were arrested this past year. A lot of people don't like Kellen Winslow Jr. because he's been a clown since his college days and got hurt off-season in the pros doing incredibly ignorant crap.
There is a difference between hating a player or team who is a rival because they deserve it, meaning they are just a bunch of thugs and petty criminals, and hating a team because they are rivals. I have been a Denver Broncos fan for more than 25 years. No, not since I was born, but since I really starte to watch Denver Broncos games. I don't like the KC Chiefs. Do I respect them? Sure. I also don't like the Raiders. Do I respect them? Not at all. They are a bunch of thugs. There is a difference.

manhattan Jets. basic and easy. This team struggled to locate gamers to in good condition their new 3-4 gadget and nevertheless dont have the suitable products like the Patriots do. Their QB has battled injuries after injuries, and their line is so youthful. Their hall of popularity working back retired and that they nevertheless get no admire for making the playoffs at 10-6 without a good good working back in 06. Jets certainly virtually made it to the AFC championship interest a pair years or 3 in the past and virtually beat Pitt to get there. merely seem it up you will locate their kicker ROBBED them of it

You don't need to earn respect in the NFL. It has a playoff system. All you got to do is win the games.
