Hey There,
Okay, I need a project.
This is a simple process, with many complicated steps.
First, make sure you have some sort of reinstall CD or OS cd to begin again. If you do, this will be easy.
Put it in the cd rom and boot to it. You will go through the install process. Make sure that you are going through the install and NOT thre reinstall.
You will get to a partition screen. Make sure you DELETE EVERY partition that you see. Press "D". You will know that you did it correctly if it asks you to press "L" to delete. It might gripe to you that it is a system partition. YES delete it.
Then, select the unpartitioned space to install the OS. Format it NTFS. It might take several minutes to several hours to do this.
You are on your way. After the format, it should take about an hour to complete the install process.
Depending on your computer, you may have to install different device drivers and do windows updates. Depending on your experience, this may take you a day or so.
Here are a few web sites that will help you with your original problems. Install this stuff before you get in trouble again.

1st good luck with that lol here we go: You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps. When you delete a hard disk partition or volume, you create empty space that you can use to create new partitions. If your hard disk is currently set up as a single partition, then you cannot delete it. You also cannot delete the system partition, boot partition, or any partition that contains the virtual memory paging file, because Windows needs this information to start correctly. For this, click to open your "Computer managment" (im saying this looking at my own OS which is VISTA HOME PREMIUM). In the Navigation pane, under Storage, click Disk Management Right-click the volume, such as a partition or logical drive, that you want to delete, and then click Delete Volume Click Yes to delete the volume The resulting empty space is called unallocated space if you deleted a primary partition, or free space if you deleted a logical drive within an extended partition. You can now use the empty space to create additional volumes hope this helps man!

BEFORE YOU DO THIS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WORKING COPY OF WINDOWSXP ON A CD. Make a Win98 boot disk (requires 3.5" floppy)(you can make one from the site in my sources), put it into your computer and reboot. When it loads up and asks for a command, type in "fdisk" and press enter. After that, choose to delete a partition, chose a non-logical dos thinger, and answer yes on ALL questions it asks you. Your harddrive will be wiped clean. Now, take out the floppy, put in the windows CD, reboot. Follow all instructions and you'll be good to go with a fresh copy of windows =D

The best thing to do is find all of your CD's that came with your computer, locate the help desk number of the manufacturer just in case you get stuck, and start over. If you reboot your computer with the operating system disk in the computer (WIndows XP), then it should prompt you to follow certain steps to reload the operating system. By reloading the operating system, it deletes and reformats the hard drive.

If data on your hard disk is corrupted it is advisable to format the hard disk and reinstall the operating system (usually Windows XP). If a new hard disk is used, you may prefer to partition the hard disk into 2 or more drive. The operating system is installed on the first drive and a backup of the data is stored on the second drive More details at http://fixit.in/format.html

well if you want to get rid of every thing but still keep the drive one way is to reformat the disc at least seven times and then re-install every thing that was on your computer in icluding your operating system. its a pain but its the only way to get rid of everything and be ABSOLUTELY sure of it.
now if you dont care what happens to your disc ive got tons of ways to get rid of it!!! =) if you want a list email me.
