Clayton is correct. If you are a boat and a boating lover, the cost and time do not matter so much. If you keep it running properly and keep it clean it will not give you a lot of trouble. If you are not currently a boater, go out with friends as much as possible and rent a boat a few times and then decide. Do NOT start with a 28 foot boat. Find a nice mid-range 18 or 19 foot boat with maybe a 135 HP motor. It won't be the fastest boat on the water but it will be fast enough and have good gas mileage. Do a lot of research before making a purchase.

WHAT A HORRIBLY SEXIST QUESTION!!!!!!!!
I make more than twice what my husband makes, I pay ALL the bills, buy everything our son needs (and most of what he just wants). I pay for EVERYTHING!!!
My hubby blows his entire check within 24 hours on useless cr*p and alcohol.
The bank account is in MY name, because he is irresponsible and thinks if there's still checks, there must still be money in the account.
If he needs some money, I'LL decide how much he can have, and how often he gets it. I don't need his permission to spend money, but he sure needs mine!!
Get out of the Dark Ages Buddy. Women wear the pants now!!! Get used to it!!!

LOL. Does she work too? Do you have to answer to her for what you spend? If not then you two need to sit down and work on a budget together so that you both know what is going on. Your marriage will be in trouble since money is the number 1 problem in marriages.

I totally agree with Joycee, and I am not married for the same reason.

A wife is not a child who needs permission to do anything. A husband is not a parent who decides what his wife is allowed to do or not to do.
If you are married..my sympathies to your wife...I see absolutely no hope for this type of marriage, which should be a partnership, not the kind of relationship you describe.
if you are still unmarried...please do all of womankind a favor and stay that way.

Excuse me? In our house, I spend what I want, when I want. So does he. Occasionally, just to be considerate, we will notify the other of a large charge or check that has already been made.

I do know couples where one person is bad with money, so the other person puts him or her on an allowance. The I suppose it would depend on what the household income is, and how much they need for their purchases.

There must be a point to all of sandstorm's anti-female questions besides sheer stupidity on his part. This guy cannot be for real. No one, man or woman, can be this backwards, can they?? I have to admit, though, after a while, he's kind of funny...in that Dumb and Dumber sense.

How old are you? About 15, I bet, and sitting back waiting to see all the angry answers you get to these ridiculous questions. Isn't this a bit boring for you? The answers are so predictable.

It seems you never tire of being lambasted,(yes, you can go look it up in the dictionary now, if you ask your wife's permission!)
