sometimes a movie has two, three or even more points where you think 'yes this is a good place to roll end credits' but they go on, and on, and sometimes on.
I had that feeling about 'the departed' (even though it was superbly acted)
Which films have you seen where this was the case?

Well Hugh Jenas, I did try to keep it concise but of course that can be tricky because you want people to really get what you're asking even if in this case it was quite obvious but then not everyone speaks native English and you do try to be getting your point across as best you can which is not always possible with a limited amount of words.

or simply put: :PPPPP

The first comment is completely correct. LOTR 3 went on forever! it could hav ended a good 30 minutes earlier and the story would have been patched up nicely. I mean there were quite a few loose ends to tie up but they could have done it faster, jeez!

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. It went on... and on... and on...

More recently, Superman Returns. Great superhero movie, but it became rather sloppy and over-extended at the end.

I tell you something that might upset you. Departed is based on a Hong Kong movie where most Hong Kong people think is rubbish.
