Yeah buddy, it is. Where would we be without being useful?
Useful is the key to mankinds survival. It should not be drudgery, but it is up to us to try and enjoy our work and that we can provide for ourselves and family, in a proper way. And yet doing something we enjoy is hard to come by, but that is the choices we make in life without education? The force inside us all is two sided, lazy and productive, the dislike of something makes us resent, and lazy, and the thrill of doing something we like is exhilerating enough that we become elated and produce in abundance. We need to concentrate on the whole picture, doing is living and making a living is survival and take up hobbies that we can enjoy to even out our lifestyles, then be happy and appreciate we are not in pain and dying. Happy New Year

Definitely not.
Sure, work may seem to be the only thing life is about, but what of retirement?- You're jobless, relaxed, and most likely living it up in a condo by the beach. The only things you really have to do for yourself are petty.
So work may be the majority of life, but it most often doesn't end that way.

Work... If you mean drudgery? Some people are fortunate enough to enjoy their "work". Work... on a spiritual journey?Every thing we do either makes this journey better or worse. We are all searching for one thing... Happiness. Work never stops. Even when we are having fun, we still have to put energy into it. Some people have to work just to move their fingers or toes. I feel that it is all just a mission of the mind, to succeed in making an intention come to fruition.

Life is what you make it. Some choose to make it all about work. Others choose to live on very little money and have a great deal of time with friends and family.

It depends upon what you mean by work. If you mean work as in making money for materiel possessions, then no, life is not all about work. You can't take it with you.

If your work is to love, help, etc. others and work to be closer to your maker, then yes life is all about work and what you learn from it. It is preparation for meeting your maker.

i think it is the buddhist that say "life is pain"

it does seem to me that the most successful people are those that work the "smartest" (i've seen a lot of hard workers go broke)

people that do not work seem to have the most miserable lives...even if they were willed a lot of money from rich parents, they seem to lose themselves in all the reward because they don't have a mission

If you're a Calvinist, then yes life is all about work because Calvinism emphasizes working hard.

But if you're not, then no it's not all about work. It's about peace and love and success as an individual.

pretty much. anything and anyone that wants to survive needs to work--whether that be catching prey, foraging for food, or working for The Man to get a paycheck. Survival is based on the work one puts toward surviving.
