The best way is: seek ye first the kingdom of God and all else will be added unto you. If you wish to do it the hard way, then prosperity in all things is like muscle strength, the more you use it the more you have. a word of caution; Desire, Karma, action in thought, word and deed are mans creative process, and they create your life circumstances and your destiny.Choose carefully the thoughts you allow to stay in your mind. As long as it is your desire, instead of Gods will and as long as it is your thought, word, and deed instead of Gods will, then the results are your responsibility, not Gods.

A big problem with the knowledge gap is our obsession with established formal education. If "nowhere man" is an example, I would have to say a degree is no indicator of intelligence. It is an indicator of indoctrination. There are many other legitimate ways to gain knowledge, Experience, in the form of observation and analysis, is one of the best. In college you are in a totally controlled environment which stifles anything but the sort of thought which is dictated by the establishment there.
Knowledge, and the pursuit thereof, are the offspring of an open and thoughtful mind, whether that mind has a degree or not. All too often a degree becomes merely a license to stop learning.
The best way to eliminate the knowledge gap is to get our society (including...actually, ESPECIALLY...academia) to stop dumbing people down and start encouraging curiosity and truly independant thought. So there!!!

Were you her for the last two "elections"?
There is a vast wealth if ignorance, fear, denial and down right stupidity in this country.
Partly because we are lazy, party because we are spoiled and selfish.
Some people run around with blinders on, some people hope for better but do nothing to achieve it and still others seek to profit form this environment of fear and confusion.
I guess my answer to your question would be two things:
1) Those whom you would qualify as "less smart" should make a concerted effort to gain information through reading, lots and lots of reading and then thinking. Really thinking about a)how they feel about any given thing they have been studying, b) why they feel the way they do about it, i.e. examining your own personal history of experiences and coming to understand how it has effected your view of the world and how you process information.
2) then talk with people. . .no matter what you think of their intelligence level. It's always interesting to talk to someone you consider to more informed than yourself. It is also beneficial to talk with people you may consider less informed than yourself.
This is good exercise because it teaches us patience, courtesy, and respect. Everyone deserves our respect.
Just remember that when you are engaging in conversation with someone try to remain dispationate. Try not to let yourself be carried away by your emotional responce to a subject.
Try to listen and try to see things from their perspective.
Doing this helps you better understand your own perspective and determine whether you've assessed the facts correctly.
Asking questions here is a good start.
You did so in a sincere manner.
I think you will receive a fair number od responses that will treat you in kind.
And don't be put off when someone chimes in with a smarta** remark. They are either in a silly mood or they might be a putz.
Point is, let it roll off.
Most people give the best feedback they can and are sincere in their attempt to comminicate.
I would also stick to the philosophy section of the questions.
you will find it more satisfying in the short run.
There are far fewer silly questions here and many oppertunities to think/examine your own thoughts and feelings and learn to convey them in a consise and inteligent manner.
And when you are feeling silly go to the general section, scan through till you find something that makes you laugh and practice being informative but also feel free to use a bit of tongue in cheek humor.
Sometimes sarcasm is absolutley called for and even a moral imperitive.

I believe many will come to realize they have been left behind in the sharing of education and they will follow their own knowledge to teach them-self. It is very difficult to bridge a gap and some do not care to share what they already know because their time becomes so valuable to them, they have reached their goal in life and to them that is all that matters, every one else is but a shadow. I can not wait for them to teach me in their time because I am growing too. It is better this way because I use my own mind , my own learned understanding which makes me less dependent upon the changing world as is. It is best this way.

If we can't think for ourselves, if we're unwilling to question authority, then we're just putty in the hands of those in power. But if the citizens are educated and form their own opinions, then those in power work for us. In every country, we should be teaching our children the scientific method and the reasons for a Bill of Rights. With it comes a certain decency, humility and community spirit. In the demon-haunted world that we inhabit by virtue of being human, this may be all that stands between us and the enveloping darkness.
I am adding:
Keeping the population "dumbed down" serves the purpose of those at the top of the pyramid.. as in $$$ wealth..

Not really, it is more like this Democrat vs. Republican= Central Government control of your life to the smallest detail vs. personal responsibility. Also, I know a lot of Democrats who are wealthy outside of Hollywood. What you are spouting is the left wing mantra that has been around for decades.

this is an international & timeless problem...to resolve this issue you'd also be able to resolve world hunger.
Very deep, difficult, insidious problem to resolve.
Most poor don't have the money to take care of their health which when their children are born they may be diseased and the problem just continues.
The US has been throwing $$$ at this problem for years thru grants, better schools, better teachers, and there are still adults everyday that CANNOT read.
There is a gap, but very hard to resolve.

I hope you notice the irony in your question. Your question is riddled with improper grammar and punctuation omissions. It appears that you're on the bridge of which you speak. :) Some of us are on the other side waiting for you and the rest of the idiots above that rambled on about politics! Girlgenius up there is such a windbag. Get over it!

Yes the percentage pursuing post-bachelor degrees is going up but the ratio of people getting into college isn't changing. At least that's what this speaker said at my college.
The smart are getting smarter and the stupid are getting... Well, look at Bush.

If theres an opportunity to learn then people should take it, if they don't then its their problem if they don't want to learn. Parents, schools and peers should all put an effort into making learning fun and relevant for kids.
