Ok here's what to do as i've done it and got away with it - stop smoking in your flat as soon as possible (puff out of window), buy Febreeze and constantly spray everything (curtains, couch, bedding, clothes etc) and buy a carpet spray that you spray onto carpets and leave - this helps disperse the smell. Oh, and open all windows for some fresh air. Buy plug in air freshners too for all rooms. Good luck!

Give the place a good airing, open all the doors and windows.
Wash all the soft furnishings that you can - cushions covers, rugs, curtains.
Use Febreze (a bottle or 2) on everything that can't go in the machine, repeatedly over a few days.
Use an odour neutraliser, like Oust, rather than an air freshener. Again, repeatedly over a few days.
Have a good clean, polish smell lingers and gets everywhere.
Cook something that smells good, like a roast dinner, or bread, just before they arrive to cover any last remaining odour...
Stop smoking to avoid this problem in the future!

Several things to do.
Depending on the weather open the window at least a little bit. and febreeze curtains and couches, bed anything with fabric on it that will hold the smoky smell if you have fabric shower curtains, those too. let it air out.
Wash all bed sheets.
If you have essential oils put some on a oil warmer and use it!
or alternatively you can
Put a small pot on the stove with some water and some apple slices and cinamon sticks.
Burn candles! the flame helps to absorb the smell

try brewing a strong cup of coffee.... i dont like smoke and i know this works. you can even do it when you burn something and it stinks.
if the coffee doesnt make it all go away... try febreeze... i have that stuff. works great. once i put a coffee cup with a rubber bottom in the microwave and febreeze saved my @ss. you can spray it everywhere. smells cling to things... especially fabrics so make sure you get everything.
plug in air fresheners work too.
im a non-smoker but i can smell ciggie smoke from a mile away. i went to hotel that was supposed to be non-smoking but my room was rank. sooooo... like i said try the coffee, and the febreeze, and the plug ins. hopefully the mixture wont cause it to smell funny. i wish you luck

I dont know if you can still buy it but when I used to smoke I used to pot porri for my ash trays. Its like small scented stones that you put in the ashtrays and when ash burns it, it releases a nice scent. Also air wick do an air freshener especially to eliminate tobacco smoke. Also as others have said, fabreeze is fab for fabrics. Other than that, CONFESS!!!! If you are old enough to live in your own flat then you are old enough to be responsible for your own actions. Good luck

You should quit smoking, really. Its slowly killing you. But I'll help you with your problem.
First, open all the windows, then burn some toast and eggs, etc.
After about fifteen minutes, close the windows and brew a couple batches of coffe and put some cinnamon sticks in a boiling pot of water and let that boil. Also use Fabreez. Hope it works, and do me a favor and quit smoking, its unhealthy.

Looks like everyone covered you on this, but if you need to sneak a smoke while they are there, go into the bathroom, open the window, take an empty TP tube, cover one end of it with a dryer sheet and rubber band, exhale your cig through the open end with the closed end pointed out the window :-)

Febreeze and the new Glade oil candles. Me and my fiance are both smokers. We lived with his mom who is a non smoker for about 6 months last winter. It was to cold to go out to smoke. We used these and she never knew the difference. Good Luck

Throw open all the windows! You cannot beat fresh air!
Spray air freshener & spray Febreze on the fabric surfaces the smoke might have clung to, like sofa, curtains, bed, etc... Good luck!

Leave all of your windows open until they get there. Shampoo the carpets and the furniture if possible. Then try some febreeze or an airfreshner that is designed for cigarette smoke.
