If you have any extra scraps left cut out the burn and replace with a scrap piece cut to the same size.
If you do not have and scraps you can cut a piece from under a couch or a piece of furniture that you do not move.

You've gotten some good answers here. Also, if the carpet has a high pile, and you've got some extra pieces of it, you could clip some of the fabric (not the backing) and glue them onto the burn.

Trim away the burnt-black spot as best as possible without making it too noticeable, then spray with a carpet cleaner..let it set for a few then use a hard bristled toothbrush and brush it out.. Sounds crazy, but it worked for me.

Cut the burned fibers with a pair of scissors. Works for me when sparks fly out of the wood stove.

I don't need to fix a burn on my carpet. I don't smoke.
