I prefer short anime series.

Why?

I define short anime series anywhere from 52 episodes or less.

Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell:SAC, Gankutsuou, Elfen Lied, Haibane Renmei, Kino's Journey and KimiNozo, all of them short animes, have unique, touching stories, that if they were extended, they would be too "fluffed" or filled with nothing but filler. These series have no fillers, just straight-to-the-point storytelling. These series don't have many cliches, some none at all. They are all unique.

I define long anime series as 53 episodes or more.

Long anime series, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Kyo Kara Maoh and especially InuYasha have a good amount of filler episodes and go by slowly. I dislike InuYasha, Naruto, Bleach and others. I can't stand the mainstream anime series that are overly-cliched. These series aren't unique.

There are a few exceptions though, ie Monster. It's a masterpiece and it's a long anime series. There are other exceptions.

What's yours

Short because it usually gets to the point, instead of making up stuff

Honestly, the only animes I have seen thusfar have been long ones, such as Naruto, Inuyasha, etc. I like these two in particular, but I do wish that they were void of fillers. This comming semester, I plan to start watching various other animes, mostly short ones that a friend of mine has downloaded. I would prefer this, because, as you said, its straight to the point, and doesnt take up so dang much time to watch the whole thing.

Well, the short anime series can also have a lot of information/detail or whatever in it. Long anime series are cool I guess... Anyway, if I had to choose, it would be short animes. Some of the animes you listed as the short anime series are MY FAVORITE animes of all time and like you said, very unique too.

But I like long animes too...

Honnestly speaking I don't care as long as I love the anime. But I can't imagine these series being short one : Saint Seiya ( you would miss the Sanctuary which is the most interesting part ), Hikaru no Go, Ranma, Captain Tsubasa...

But I also wish some series where longer.

I like both. I liked Wolf's Rain which was a short anime series. The only reason I hate Inuyasha now is because it is gone on way to long and just needs to end. I like all types of anime except Hentai.

i think only really good anime's should be long. some shorter ones aren't that great, like they were meant just to entertain you until the next episode of naruto comes out. but some of the short ones are the best. like alice gauken and ouran host club. they should be continued because they have very good plots and veiwers and readers want to see it continue. i perfer longer ones

The Mysterious Play is my all time favorite - Ive watched it several time - Netflix carries all the disks. I dont know how many episodes there are though - 50?

Once Piece is a very close second. I love the humor of One Piece - I love the concept - what is a gum gum tree!

i like both i guess. But i mainly like long term series cuz u get to no the characters better that way. Plus u get to the depth of the series over a long period of time.
