Sure. I think it's easy to fall in love with the potential of someone, too. You can see what they could be and it's very disappointing to realize that either they don't see it or feel it for themselves at a very deep level, or that they are just too lazy to try.

Yes, this holds true for my mother. My parents divorced when I was 8, I am now 30 and my mother says she thinks about my father every day of her life since then. Obviously things did not work out, but even so, my mother says, "You have no control over your heart".

Yes I could. But I would always hope it would work out.
Takes two for a relationship, and the only one you can change is you.

Can I? or can anyone? Sorry to say I don't love anyone right now. I did love someone and she called me last night to say happy new year and to tell me she really appreciates me being there for her. And that I still mean a lot to her. But we both know we can't live together again.

i always love people BECAUSE i know it will never work out!
i guess in the end the disappointement is not as bitter as it could have been if i had put all my hope in the relationship....

yes. i love a girl who doesn`t love me anymore, or at least that`s the way i feel, that i still love her after 6 years but she doesn`t love me anymore. Crappy. Haven`t seen her with someone else, so i still don`t know
