Not a lot of people will accept old stuff. Can't put them in the trash (toxic stuff inside) they have to be recycled!!
I don't think the second hand stores(GoodWill, Salvation Army) will take them. You could put a listing on craigslist.com under the free section.
Most computer stores that deal with refurbished computers (not new) or fix computers might be able to accept them and recycle them. They would charge you a fee (they might offer to buy the equipment from you if they think they can resell it).
Otherwise, In my area every 6 months or so the city puts up a hazardous waste collection area where people can bring in old paint, tv's, computers. etc and they will recycle them for free. I'd suggest checking with your city to see if they offer a program like this.

Nobody wants real old stuff anymore. If it is 3-5 years old, donate it to one or more daycares for poor kids. These places can't afford to buy anything. It would be nice if there were some kiddie software to go with them.

be careful the place you pass with it. the bright and darkish aspects of Africa’s techniques technologies sector are the two glaring on the Ikeja computing gadget Village, close to Lagos, Nigeria. hundreds of distributors %. this bustling industry, certainly one of three important hubs the place imported used electronics are repaired and acquired. desktops, fax machines, cellular telephones--in case you opt for one, you will locate it right here, spruced up and in a position to purchase. yet previous the thriving storefronts and the piles of refurbished wares, a darker image emerges. as much as seventy 5% of the electronics shipped to the computing gadget Village are irreparable junk, in accordance to the computing gadget and Allied Product sellers association of Nigeria, a close by industry group. Nigeria has a thriving fix industry, yet no potential to precise manage digital waste, maximum of which lands up in landfills and casual dumps. That’s a situation, because of the fact this “e-waste” may well be poisonous: lots of that's loaded with probably poisonous metals inclusive of lead, cadmium, and mercury. What’s extra, digital factors are generally housed in plastic casings that spew carcinogenic dioxins and polyaromatic hydrocarbons while burned.
