if you have pets sleeping with you once a week is a must. If just human kind in the bed once a month. Check the label to make sure it can be washed at all. You may need to dry clean.

Use the largest commercial washer you can find at the laundry mat extra rinse, then when you dry it, throw some tennis balls in the dryer with it to keep the stuffing from bunching-up

I agree, we do our bedding weekly. If the comforter doesn't actually touch you (sheets and blankets between you) thenyou could probably go every other week.

We wash all of our bedding weekly. Grandma always said its a weekend chore.

as long as you're using a sheet between you and the comforter, i'd say monthly would be fine. of course this depends on if your bed is a high traffic area.
