Everytime I think about Scotland I think about Mike Myers imitating a Scot. Like in So I Married an Axe Murderer. Or in Austin Powers movies Fat Bastard. I don't know much about them.

Having spent time in Scotland and discussing its problems with its
authorities: Scotland is losing out on keeping its promising young
to stay and work in Scotland, although it is a very beautiful country.
Doctors, Nurses, Dentist, Business majors go to England where the
jobs pay more. The oil industry is one good source of jobs but not enough to keep the young. Eventually these problems will be resolved as all similar problems are through supply and demand.

Scotland is high on my list of places I would like to visit. I live in a low, dry place so the highlands-high and wet sound interesting. I've read a bit of history and the Scottish people sound extremely interesting. And for anyone that wants to fall in love with Scotland, read the Diana Gabaldon Highlander series.

I live in England, but visited Scotland once. Friendly people, beautiful country-side. My niece married a Scots lad, he's a lovely person, as is his family...apart from one ! My brother lived in the Highlands for around 10 years, he loved the place and would still be there if his line of work hadn't dried up. Don't know of anyone who hasn't fallen in love with the country

I think it rains a lot there. The accents are hard to understand and throughout history Scotland has been a willing accomplice to building the British empire.Wouldn't be high on my "must see" list of places to visit.

I think the way you Scottish talk is kind of funny, but you probably would think the way I talk is funny.
