Also, the guy that said he has loud pipes because they are safer needs a sign.

I have been riding metrics for 35 years, no accidents and no tickets. But you can hear me coming from a good distance away. True not many harleys can see 160 mph but neither do metric drivers with no tickets or accidents. Even though my bike looks remakably like a Harley, sounds remotely like a Harley, it seems to me that you are the one with "Harley Envy". Live and let live man..lighten up.

If you wanna race, just name the place. By the way, don't have strait pipes on my hog. Oh, not sure what this has to do with it but I do got speeding tickets...no major accedents just a few minor laydowns.
Like I said, name the place and I will make you more Jeolous of Harley's than your are now.

Most of the time, I believe they say they're so much faster (when usually not) because it's their way of dealing with being ripped off on their bikes. Not all are slouches, some are pretty fast. Just most who brag, usually get left in the dust.

My chopper has loud pipes for safety. People dont see us so ya gotta make sure they know we there. And that still isnt a guarenty, I recently lost my left leg cause someone ran red light and I ran into them. But know thiis most of the customs like mine are very fast in straight line. I run a 120 inch motor with 4valve heads dual carbs And a 6 speed tranny. Learning how to use my artificial leg and soon to be riding again

My Harley is fast. Fast enough for me,I have no trouble running 65 mph.Plenty fast enough for me.

The main reason is that they cant hear how loud it is because they are traveling ahead of the sound, and if your traveling faster than sound that must be fast. lol

Harley's are mainly owned by white collar workers...They're lawyers that are hardcore bikers by night. Obviously, according to them, louder = faster...It annoys the hell out of me because if a car were that loud, it would not be street legal and they're constantly driving down my street at midnight, waking me up.
