They've had so much of Christmas, with decorations up in the shops since September, they want to look forward to their Easter eggs.

Twelfth night is the feast of the Epiphany, which was when Christians celebrated the coming of Christ for 300 years before Christmas was invented. The Catholic Church has now decided to celebrate Epiphany on a Sunday so it can be any time from 6th to 12th January giving us up to 18 days of Christmas. We'll have to make up another 6 verses to the song.
