I am wondering if there is a catalog or a list for highscools of textbooks avail. How do they find out about books they might want to include in their curriculum

In my college, we have a book club that we sign in to be a member. It works out pretty good. We went to the college book store to find out exactly what book we needed then we were hunting for that book. I find that, online for cheap book is the best. If you are lucky to find one. It a lot cheaper online.

There are publishing companies that send out sample books to all school districts. The teachers and principals decide which one they like best, and the school boards adopt them. At the end of the school year you can see each school get all kinds of sample books.

the state reviews textbooks and publishes a list of approved texts then each school district selects from the approved list

The school recommends what text to use. I've never taught high school but I have taught college courses and this is the way its done.
