Were they friendly in the store? 2 days is not long enough to ask an adult animal to accept you. Leave them alone for about a week. Feed then treats from your fingers. If after a week of not touching them you can't pet them. Ask the store for an exchange. The majority of degu's are really great pets and very social. Though often they don't like to be picked up. But I haven't met a degu who doesn't love his ears rubbed.

You should leave them in peace in their cage to settle for at least 48 hours before doing anything, they need time to adjust and to get used to the sights and smells of their new home. After that, hand feed them goodies and just be gentle and patient with them. Nothing is instantaneous, they need to get used to and to learn that you won't harm them. It takes time, but you'll get there.

Hope that helps, good luck :)
