I really like discussing books with other people but unfortunately my friends are not so much into it...so I'll rely on the web.

Well, i only know of two, and they are for specific books, so they might not help at all. But if you want to talk about books by Scott Westerfeld the westerboard (http://www.westerboard.com/index.php) is great for VERY in depth discussion, and if you like Twilight by Stephenie Meyer then you can discuss it at http://twilightlexicon.com/forum/. Sorry if that does you no good at all.

Librarything is great. There are groups you can join there (for free, of course) and some groups are quite active. There are plenty of different book groups depending on your interests of course.

I would also suggest searching Yahoo Groups. I have discovered some great book clubs/book discussion groups there. You'll have to weed through lots of results, but there are some active groups that really get into discussing books.

Go to amazon.com and join a discussion group. Just type in a book title. Scroll down until you see join a discussion group and then click on it.

Barnes and Noble has BN University on their website. Most of the "classes" are free -- you just need to buy the book. They always have several book discussion "classes" going on online. All their other "classes" are great too. I highly recommend looking into it.
